So here we are at the gates of the semi-final of the European Cup, with a great chance of making it to the last four for the first time in our history. Can we complete the job? I must say, I’ve been pretty confident up till today, when the cheeky old nerves have already made their presence felt and are duly making me more cautious, but as Wenger keeps saying (and I imagine he has drilled the team dozens of times about it too), it’s not over yet.

Far from it in fact, which is why we need to play yet another perfect game tonight. An early goal for Juve would open the tie right up, so those first 25 minutes are going to be key. The longer it goes on without Juve making a breakthrough, the better our chances.

Luckily for us, we have Fabregas, and probably Eboué too, fit to retain their places. What’s more, we’ve got further options available too, namely Campbell and van Persie, the latter in particular who could come on to good effect should it be needed.

There are reams of pages in today’s papers on tonight’s game, with stats, analysis and comment all over the shop, and Sky Sports News is having a field day too, as you can imagine. With that in mind I’ll take my leave in order to continue my own pre-pre-match preparations.

Am I nervous? Is the bear a Catholic? Does the Pope shit in the woods?
