Well there was much criticism before last night’s match about the poor anticipated attendance, but who can blame both sets of fans for missing that bilge? I just feel sorry for the 900 gooners who bothered making the journey. It takes some effort to head up north and support your team on a Tuesday night, more effort than many of the team could be bothered to expend on earning their sizeable wages it seems.
I think all Arsenal fans are prepared to accept a defeat here and there if it’s down to being beaten by a better team in better form, or a fluke strike, or plain bad luck in front of goal, but when the team doesn’t show up until it’s too late then people have every right to criticise.
It’s a good job there’s a second leg, isn’t it?
