Indoors is the best place to be

Good afternoon from a despicably wet and grey London. Thank god we’re not playing at home.

Like some sort of miracle, the red sea of injuries appears to be parting. There isn’t a single player who is now more than a few weeks off fitness, and so long as it stays that way, it’s going to be a massive boost to us. There really are no excuses now, and anything less than a clean sweep of all the four trophies we are still in will be enough.

Well, maybe just one would do, but much depends on our double-header against Liverpool, starting today with the more important of the two. Ironically, Liverpool’s form since our 3-0 home win has been good, especially at home, and there can be no doubting that it’s going to be a toughie.

Transfer news is pretty thin on the ground, but one player who is on his way out is Anthony Stokes. 16 goals in 18 games up in Scotland clearly wasn’t enough to guarantee him some games, and while I understand the reasons for it – there are too many players ahead of him – it’s a shame. He looks like he could be an excellent player given a chance, but it’s a chance he’s now not going to get.

All we can do is hope the decision doesn’t come back to bite us in the arsenal. There aren’t many players who have left Arsenal and done enough to justify criticism of their sale, so Wenger’s judgement is clearly pretty good on these things.

Right, I’m off out before the game. Wellies on – tick. Mae West on – tick.

Soggy.

Arsenal since about 1979. Thick, thin and all that.
