Ten Years of Arsene Who

Brief one today for oh-so-many dull reasons, but I can’t leave it blank on a day like this, can I?

As we all know it’s ten years since the announcement of Arsène Who’s appointment – and quite apart from the terrifying speed at which those ten years have passed (I remember that Sheff Weds game when Vieira made his debut like it was yesterday), it’s worth reiterating what an incredible ten years it’s been.

I don’t need to tell you about our style of football, our trophies, our new ground and training ground and above all, the fantastic players who have graced the turfs of Highbury and the Grove, because we all know that already. There’s Wenger’s hand in all of that – so thanks, le boss.

Tributes flowing in, and it’s a measure of the man that many of them are from former or current players:

Dicko of Lee Green in the BBC

Fabregas in The Indy

Freddie in the Telegraph

We’ve been very, very lucky.

Arsenal since about 1979. Thick, thin and all that.
