Well that’s put a dampener on things.

Gunnerblog and ANR picked up on this last night and it’s been confirmed this morning: Red & White Holdings have increased their share of Arsenal, not to 15% as suggested in some places but to 21%, making them the second largest shareholder and rendering a takeover punt almost inevitable.

“This is quite clearly a challenge to the board” says Mihir Bose, and he’s right.

So just when the team clicks, goes top, and confidence is high, we get this to bring us down to earth. The timing is rubbish, though is anyone really surprised?

A hostile takeover is a very real worry now.
