I Keep Things Even Briefer Today

So anyway, I read the other day somewhere that Wenger was keen to not hype up young Theo Walcott too much for fear of the price and expectation getting to him.

With that in mind, Arsenal.com introduced us gently to our new signing with not one Theo Walcott feature, not two – nay – but three. A picture special, highlights of the game and something called Walcott Watch, a minute-by-minute rundown of his debut that covered just about everything except how many times he picked his nose.

Poor lad, eh.

In other news – that last bit wasn’t strictly news, just an observation – Real Madrid (should it be Frail Madrid?) were hit for six last night, a pretty staggering result given their recent excellent form. Long may it continue. We need it to.

But of course, we need some more defensive stability ourselves, and so it’s good to hear that Gael Clichy is approaching a return. I saw a photo of him training in the paper the other day, and now it’s confirmed. Still no news on any of the other crocked back line, but I can’t believe that Cole can be out for that much longer. It has all gone a bit quiet there though.

That’s it.
