Sizzling Arsenal are back

Stupid decision to go away for the weekend. Stupid stupid stupid old me.

I can only go by the radio commentary and a grainy web stream from Fox Sports Australia, but my ears and eyes had a wonderful afternoon; we were fabulous.

The contrast to the Fulham game could not be more extreme, and thank the lord for that. Arsenal were up for it, inventive, sharp – it was just the response required. OK, so we missed twice as many chances as we scored, but with a performance like that who am I to criticise?

Special word for Denilson too: he was awful against Fulham and skittish at times against Twente, but yesterday he seemed much better, topping it off with his first ever league goal too. Fair play.

It’s amazing what a peformance like that can do to your mood. All we need now is confirmation that van Persie is OK (that would be too much to bear, seriously).

Wenger’s got two days to persuade a player or two to join the Arsenal. All he needs to do is show them that DVD.

Come on you rip-roarers.

Arsenal since about 1979. Thick, thin and all that.
